Despite its glorious history as a backbone of Japan's industrialisation and recovery after the last war the Japanese coal mining industry nowadays nearly came to a standstill as only one mine is still in operation.
Correns Corporation can draw on more than 50 years experience of supplying most modern technology and machinery to the Japanese coal mines which had to be operated under very severe geological conditions. We are still continuing this service which also benefits a number of mining engineers from other Asian countries who are on training in Japan.
As a matter of course our activities over more than 50 years lead to numerous human contacts between East and West for which Correns was and is intensively involved in arranging and coordinating these technological exchanges. |
